This song is about memory, and memory errors. Memory defines us – and therefore, we lose part of our identity if memory fails. Bees must remember lots of things – the colours and the scents of flowers, for example, and the location of their hive. Like humans, bees consolidate the memory of the last day’s experiences during sleep. But, also like humans, bees have false memories, where experiences made at different time points of their lives are blurred together to form memories of events that never existed.
