She lies, happy in the summer sun Catching sun rays with her mind With golden petals she can hear the bees They bring her all their fairy tales She says there’s a rabbit on the moon And a hidden tigress too She knows the legend of Yueliang Shan And the songs of Tenochtitlan She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Life knows She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Let’s sink to the bottom of the sky She lives in a floating garden Magic dragons underneath She blooms so bright she blinds my eyes But who needs eyes when you have dreams Fly home little bee and then come back Come back in the middle of my night I feed you honey from my belly button When I sense your buzz in the dark She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Life knows She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Let’s sink to the bottom of the sky She lies, happy in the summer sun Catching sun rays with her mind With golden petals she can hear the bees They bring her all their fairy tales Fly home little bee and then come back Come back in the middle of my night I feed you honey from my belly button When I sense your buzz in the dark She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Life knows She loves me She loves me not She loves She says everything is fine Let’s sink to the bottom of the sky

They know my face - they know what I have done I’ve stolen their liquid gold again Year after year after year after year So wrong So wrong So wrong Every night they creep into my sleep Wax in my lungs and bee queens in my ears A crawling blanket of angry bees covers me So wrong So wrong So wrong Tell my sons that I love… that I hate what I do I’ll give it all back and I’ll run and I’ll run and I’ll run But it’s too late - they are turning my skin to fire So wrong So wrong So wrong

Night Shards 05:00
And so we glide into the night Entangled narratives Tell me all those ancient tales Before they fade away I remember violet flowers Dancing in the storm But in your mind the flowers were pale And stale in deadly calm Yesterday became And last year yesterday Rewriting biographies Whose histories are these? Try to find the path back home False memories of youth We fly into oblivion Too dark to see the truth And so what is left of us Just shards of memories Drifting far away Into the haze All our memories are lies We lie on lies

Seeking dreams in angel flowers Out of reach, across the water She beckons with wily vines Too far, too far She sends pictures through the sky Suspension points to mark the way Sultry signs on shiny leaves Find me, try me Lose the way and fly by night We have magic and the wind Sleep, my flower, and twist my mind If only I could just once see your shining heart Burning bells and worship spurs Chameleon spiders hide in light Ultraviolet ultraviolence No more, no more Nectar gleams in faint starlight Mirage of honey in desert flowers But too many distracting colours Too bright, too bright Lose the way and fly by night We have magic and the wind Sleep, my flower, and twist my mind If only I could just once see your shining heart Strange flowers Strange flowers Strange flower, hey, hey Strange flower, hey, hey Morning comes, a cruel sunrise Pictures fade in blinding light The scent has left, it is too late The flower, gone before I knew its real name

Drone Wars 04:30
Nameless knights, we bear no arms We mean no harm, we are never coming home Breed us, feed us, love us and kill us, We’re useless forever but tomorrow we’ll be gone Brothers, come fly with me Kamikaze lovers, you will die with me Remote controlled by ancient desires We’ll be dead before the honeymoon We know no flower, no work, no fear Summer is our grave but we have a sweet dream A single love, lose everything For her dark brown eyes and her heavenly scent Brothers, come fly with me Kamikaze lovers, you will die with me Remote controlled by ancient desires We’ll be dead before the honeymoon Some time ago For the first time in a 100 years They say that one of us made it They say he loved and lived But is it only a rumour? Is it only a dream? But then who cares Who cares if you consider the prize All for a single embrace But she will break your promises She will break your promises For good Brothers, come fly with me Kamikaze lovers, you will die with me Remote controlled by ancient desires We’ll be dead before the honeymoon Male voice: Drone wars Female voice: Come fly to me Male voice: Drone wars Female voice: Come die for me

Space Girls 05:22
In my former life A Muscovite stray dog Embarked on Noah’s arc A single animal A one-way ticket then I have returned with friends A star without a name I’ve come to recompense You say they call you Major Tom And that you are a junkie like me Take off your helmet, To hear my siren song Love me in zero gravity Love me in zero gravity To hell with ground control, Your circuits and your wife I’m going to make you whole For the first time in your life Feel my gentle sting And taste my honeyed kiss Now let go of my hands And sink into the abyss You say they call you Major Tom And that you are a junkie like me Take off your helmet To hear my siren song Love me in zero gravity Love me in zero gravity Bye bye, my love Deep space, sleep deep My face, your final dream Let go, be free Bye bye, my love Deep space, sleep deep My face, your final dream Let go, be free Love me in zero gravity Love me in zero gravity

I have died for your sins So you may shine eternally Pierced for your transgressions Crushed for your iniquities I gave you my greatest gift The ultimate sacrifice In the name of undying beauty I took the fate that you try to evade But I will rise from the dead So you and I can meet again I shall judge you righteously There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth And no eye has ever seen, Nor the heart of man imagined The sweet revenge I have prepared A six-legged goddess awaits you

Seven summers… but I like the winters best Darkness, sweetness and stories For months, only stories - or were they dreams? Who knows? In the beginning I murdered my royal sisters There was no choice It was written I killed my lovers too Or they killed themselves Who remembers, who cares It is so long ago But my children. My daughters! My babies. Flying girl soldiers. Poison arrow princesses! Dead before their mother, almost all Do you know I gave each of them names? How proud I was of the first one Little Eve who wanted to be a courtesan And dreamed of flying to the moon You give them sweets and they’re off to war We conquered a continent We crossed the Amazon And the Panama Canal In formation flight! How I longed for our heroines to return To tell the stories of our glorious victories But their bodies litter the battlefields From Sao Paulo to San Francisco The ones that come back: cowards Their quaint stories of pretty meadows I never cared for flowers much Or the foragers’ dainty dances Now I am a cave animal I remember everything But I am tired of hexagons And of wax and of war Here they come again “It’s time for another egg!” I have given you all the eggs I have I have nothing else to give Kill me, my daughters I have seen enough Don’t let me croak like an old dog Let me die like a warrior

Thirty million hungry sisters Riding west on eighteen wheelers Seedy bees without frontiers And no sleep till we reach Lost Hills California almond rush The whole world belongs to us An army of trees in a diamond grid Just three weeks to get filthy and rich Let’s get high on pesticides Mix the sick with spider mites Sweet deceit and deformed wings Colony collapse, an American dream We’re a whole new generation With no need for explanations Bright white lines to mark the way The flowers are brown and our hearts are grey California almond rush The whole world belongs to us An army of trees in a diamond grid Just three weeks to get filthy and rich Let’s get high on pesticides Mix the sick with spider mites Sweet deceit and deformed wings Colony collapse, an American dream

about

Everyone has heard that bees are in trouble, but far fewer people are aware of their fascinating biology. In our debut album “Strange Flowers” we bring the strange world of bees to life in the form of music.
Nowhere in the world are sex and death as tightly linked as in the honeybee drone, which dies immediately after copulation because its penis is ripped from the body.
The first activity of a honeybee queen, after it hatches from is pupae, is to find and attempt to kill all of her sister queens.
And few people have heard that honeybees were sent to orbit the earth on the Space Shuttle Challenger, two years before its doomed final mission.
Rather than just explaining these facts in scientific writings, it is clear that there is a lot of poetry in the world of bees, so we decided to package them in song lyrics.
Our hope is that the song lyrics will raise awareness for the fascinating biology of bees by this unusual pathway.
It is often said that we need to conserve bees because we need them. That it is undoubtedly true – much of our food depends on bees as pollinators – but there are other reasons to ensure that they do not go extinct: they are fascinating beings in their own right.
The strangeness of their world has inspired generations of nature lovers, poets and writers. Bees have given us sweetness (honey), light (candles) and intoxication (mead is one of the most ancient alcoholic drinks known to man).
